Grant Making Guidelines

Assuming that the mission of the requesting party aligns with the mission of the Foundation, the
Foundation will consider grant proposals that relate to the following areas:

  •  Capital Campaigns (including repair and maintenance projects)
  •  Programs
  •  Research
The Foundation generally does not grant requests for:

  •  Scholarship Programs (as it administers its own scholarship program - The David Scholar Program
  •  General support or operating expense support
  •  Endowments

In addition, the Foundation only grants requests to public charities (as defined by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States) in good
standing with the IRS. These charities are classified as 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1)or(2) organizations according to the code. We will not consider
requests from the following entities:

  •  Corporations
  •  Individuals
  •  Private Foundations
  •  Government agencies

The Trustees of the Foundation typically meet on a quarterly basis. The deadline for submitting requests, by quarter, is as follows:

Grant submission deadline:        Decision month:
May 31
September 30
December 31
Due to the volume of requests that the Foundation receives, grant proposals submitted after the respective deadline will not be considered until the
following quarterly meeting. As a result, we encourage early submission of grant requests, as many requests require additional follow-up in order to
fully understand the nature, scope, and implementation strategy of the request.
